Joe Thomas isn't even the **2nd** best LT of the past 30 years in our division. Ogden and Whitworth were better, but Thomas went to Wisconsin and was drafted 3rd, so he's, "better," by default in idiots' eyes.

You are correct and he is tied with Jim Otto (not who I expected) - both selected 10 times
Munoz is second with 9 and is tied with another person I wouldn’t have guessed - Ron Mix!

Thomas was better than Whtworth, which is not a negative on Whit, he will make the HOF down the road. Thomas and Ogden are splitting hairs on who was better. Thomas had 10 pro bowls, 6 all pros in 11 seasons Ogden had 11 pro bowls and 6 all pros in 12 seasons. I would give the edge to Ogden though but Thomas was the iron man of all iron men for Oline

Thomas was NOT better than Whitworth. Judging by popularity contest metrics and not actual stats, is invalid.
Whitworth had less sacks AND pressures given up than Thomas from 2010-2016, while Thomas never went an entire season giving up no sacks and/or only 8 pressures on over 1,000 snaps (which Whitworth did in 2014, his best year in the league by far).
Not to mention that Whitworth's run blocking was YsPC better than Thomas.
And these aren't grades either: I did extensive deep dives into this back on the mothership, when PFF was reliable in their grading and they were the first to come up with pressure numbers and YPC in the lanes. Thomas and Ryan Clady were the most-overrated Ts in the league, both completely undeserving of their accolades and were only boosted because they were drafted in the first round.
Thomas was an excellent pass blocker, but that's it and he wasn't even the best in the division.

Whitworth: 239 games played out of a possible 256 in a career, good for 93.35% of possible games played, over 16 seasons.
Thomas: 167 games played out of a possible 176 in his career, good for 94.8% of possible games played, over 11 seasons.

Give Thomas 5 more seasons, who knows if he's such an, "iron man," in comparison. You're talking as if he's some legendary, mythic god of the past.
