I blame it on CFB for going to the spread/RPO offenses. Less designed plays, more just "read the defense", OL comes out less developed, skill players are overwhelmed when the get their first NFL playbook... I like Watts, too but Emmanwori had 2 pick-sixes last year in addition to a 101 yard one that got called back so I would say he definitely made some big plays. Give me either one of these guys and I am happy. But after today I would probably pass on Safety. I like Malachi Moore after Emmanwori and Watts but that is about it. After initially liking Sanker, I don't like the angles he takes when tackling, reminds me of Stone, not good. Emmanwori is one of like 5-8 individuals who were routinely mocked in the 1st round, and will likely be gone within the first 5 picks of the 2nd round. No need to worry about him getting to us in the 2nd. Yes, Emmanwori makes his share of big plays, but the number that stands out the most is the missed tackle rate. 7.2% missed tackle rate for Emmanwori and 12.8% for Watts. RE: Safety Would Be A Wasted Pick - puddycat - 04-25-2025 We (or at least I) talk about how deep various position groups are. Would love to see more Tycen Anderson and Daijan Anthony on the field, but the fact they didn't even sniff the field when safety play was bad leaves no clue as to whether the Bengals think they can play. And given that the Bengals do not rotate safeties or LBs I wonder about the value of anything but a clear starter. |
