I think one was a coverage sack on 3rd down. The one inside the red zone, Joe had time, just nowhere to throw it. He tried to make something happen as usual, but everyone was covered. Maybe that's how pff grades it? RE: Changing of the guard? - SunsetBengal - 12-02-2024 (12-02-2024, 10:53 AM)WeezyBengal Wrote: Exactly. Time to evaluate guys and see where everyone fits in next year. Good call on the OP, btw.. I wonder if they ever put it on the QB himself? Holding the ball to long kinda thing? That's what I was thinking there. I have no problem with Joe trying to create and taking a sack on 3rd down. He didn't get them out of FG range or anything stupid, he just took a sack hoping someone would break open. RE: Changing of the guard? - Joelist - 12-02-2024 OBJr's injury affected him all game. Probably time to sit him until it is really healed. On defense the vast majority of the problem was possibly the worst playing of zone by a secondary I have ever seen. At this point they should be open to anything (even going to man) to try to stem this ridiculous type of bleeding. If he needs surgery just get it out of the way. Seasons over. RE: Changing of the guard? - bfine32 - 12-02-2024 Cody Ford is a better NFL Offensive Lineman than Cordell Volson and only 18 months older. Ford is a bandaid on a bullet hole. He CAN NOT be considered a serious option as a starter for next season. They need 2 new guards. Ford played Guard in Arizona I believe and not very well but that was a bad team. RE: Changing of the guard? - bfine32 - 12-02-2024 Line up Bengal starters from "needs to be replaced" from most to least and Ford at LG is standing in the back half of the line. Lou plays way too much ZONE. RE: Changing of the guard? - pulses - 12-02-2024 (12-02-2024, 02:02 PM)Nicomo Cosca Wrote: Ford is a bandaid on a bullet hole. RE: Changing of the guard? - The D.O.Z. - 12-02-2024 I think, with Cody Ford, some players play better out on the edge than they do “in the phone booth”. He’s fine as a back up swing tackle, but terrible at guard. I’m with others in that we need new guards. RE: Changing of the guard? - Nicomo Cosca - 12-02-2024 Speaking of guards…
*sigh* RE: Changing of the guard? - pulses - 12-02-2024 Cappa's PFF is actually worse than Volson's. I guess they dont feel comfy replacing both of them right now RE: Changing of the guard? - jason - 12-02-2024 (12-02-2024, 02:04 PM)Synric Wrote: Ford played Guard in Arizona I believe and not very well but that was a bad team. Unlike this juggernaut he's playing for at the moment? Yeah, I'm fine with them moving on from Mixon and him having success doesn't mean the Bengals botched cutting ties with him. I just meant it as a joke since so many things are going wrong this season.
