RE: Notes from Voluntary Practice - Joelist - 06-02-2025

The big thing will be if Peters does effectively teach technique to our young Offensive Linemen. If that happens the talent is there for a pretty good line.

The bad thing is the OL young. But, the good thing is they are young with 3 in years 1 and 2 and one in year 4. Yes, I am not giving up just yet on Volson. I am an optimist and hope Peters can make the OL a lot better in pass proection in 2025. It would be great run blocking as well, but give Joe an extrs .5 second and receivers an extra .5 seconds to get open and our offense could be deadly.

It is good to see even the vet Karras saying he is learning things as he has played for a lot of OL coaches in his career. If he can take the young ins and make them average in 2025, the future of the OL gets better quickly.

I agree, I will be watching Ratledge a ton and comparing him to our guy this year. We will see who is the better pro, Ratledge moving to Center
could hinder him even more for all we know. At least Fairchild is staying at his natural position with us.

Many of the call-ins on Movin' the Chains were Lions fans asking PK and JM to "talk them off of the ledge" so to speak. One caller even went so far as to saying that losing Zeitler for "only a few more million" was going to keep him awake at night. So while these fans were calm and composed when expressing their uncertainty about their team's offense moving forward, you could definitely feel the anxiety in their voices.

You are not crazy. Only 2 Gs on the 1st team. Maybe there was a tie in the results so an extea guy made 2nd team? 3 is kinda weird when 2 on 1st, but a tie would explain it.

Paul Dehner-The Athletic
Quote:Later in the conversation, however, he talked about how much defensive tackle B.J. Hill has meant to him.

“He's one of the guys I talk with a lot, joke around with a lot all day,” Burton said. “He knows my potential, and I look at him as a mentor.”
Hill said he’s always made it a priorty to check in on young guys and see how they’re doing, see if they need anything, ask questions about that they’re feeling and thinking.
“The most important thing is make sure you're mentally healthy and spiritually healthy and everything,” Hill said. “That plays a big role in your life. If you're healthy outside of football, you'll be healthy inside of football, too.”

I love to hear stories of vets taking the time to mentor. I wish Chase and Higgins would mentor him as well. They got paid, help him get paid by becoming a very good WR. They have they inside tract of helping him on and off the field.

He literally mentioned they’ve been doing exactly that.

Rutledge is better as RG but had injuries concern.

I referenced Pally's post and I did not go further than reading the exerpt she provided.

 Glad they are also helping.

You can tell that pick pissed Joe off. He threw a 70 yard bomb to Ja’Marr on the next play. LOL

RE: Notes from Voluntary Practice - pally - 06-04-2025

Media has noted that the pace of drills is faster than in past years..no lollygagging between reps, everyone moving faster. As a result more work is getting done in their limited time

I guess they realized that even talent requires hard work to edge out the other talent.

Would imagine numerous players have tried mentoring him
