Rate Our CBs (2025) - bfine32 - 06-14-2025 Time to go finish up the D and we do so with the CBs. Looks like our dime will be Hill-Turner-CTB-Fig. So where we got them compared to the rest of the league. As always the competition: ARZ: WILL JOHNSON-STARLING THOMAS-GARRETT WILLIAMS-MAX MELTON ATL: AJ TERRELL-MIKE HUGHES-DEE ALFORD-KEITH TAYLOR BAL: NATE WIGGINS-CHIDOBE AWUZIE-MARLON HUMPHREY-TJ TAMPA BUF: CHRISTIAN BENFORD-MAX HARISTON-TREDAVIOUS WHITE-TERON JOHNSON CAR: JAYCEE HORN-MICHAEL JACKSON-CHAU SMITHWADE-SHERM BARTOLOMEW CHI: JAYLON JOHNSON-TYREK STEVENSON-KYLER GORDONTERELL SMITH CLV: DENZEL WARD-MARTIN EMERSON-GREG NEWSOME-TONY BROWN DAL: DARON BLAND-TREVON DIGGS-ISREAL MUKUAMU-KAIIR ELAM DEN: PAT SURTAIN-RILEY MOSS-JAHDAE BARRON-KRIS ABRAMS DET: TERRION ARNOLD-DJ REID-ENNIS RAKESTRAW-KHALIL DORSEY GBP: CARRINGTON VALENTINE-KEISEAN NIXON-NICK HOBBS-JAVON BULLARD HOU: DEREK STINGLEY-KAMARI LASITER-JALEN PITRE-JAYLIN SMITH IND: JAYLON JONES-CHAVARIOUS WARD-KENNY MOORE-JUJU BRENTS JAX: TRAVIS HUNTER-JARRION JONES-TYSON CAMPBELL-JOURDAN LEWIS KCC: TRENT MCDUFFIE-KRISTIAN FULTON-CHAM CONNER-JAYLEN WATSON LVR: JAKORIAN BENNETT-ERIC STOKES DARNAY HOLMES-DARIAN PORTER LAC: DONTE JACKSON-CAM HART-TARHEEB STEEL-DEANE LEONARD LAR: DARIOUS WILLIAMS-AK WITHERSPOON-QUENTIN LAKE-EMMANUEL FORBES MIA: JALEN RAMSEY-STORM DUCK-KADER KOHOU-CAM SMITH MIN: ISIAH ROGERS-MEKHI BLACKMON-BYRON MURPHY-JEFF OKUDAH NEP: CARLTON DAVIS-CHRISTIAN GONZALEZ-MARCUS JONES-ALEX AUSTIN NOS: KOOLAID MCKINSTREY-ALONTAE TAYLOR-UGO AMADI-ISSAC YIADOM NYG: PAULSON ADEBO-DEONTE BANKS-DRU PHILLIPS-CORDALE FLOTT NYJ- SAUCE GARDNER-BRANDON STEPHENS-MICHAEL CARTER-QWAN STIGGERS PHI: QUINYON MITCHELL-KELEE RINGO-COOPER DEJEAN-ADOREE JACKSON PIT: JOEY PORTER JR-DARIUS SLAY-BEANIE BISHOP-JAMES PIERRE SFF: DIOMMODORE LENOIR-RENARDO GREEN-UPTON STOUT-TRE BROWN SEA: RIQ WOOLEN-JOSH JOBE-DEVON WITHERSPOON-NEMIAHA PRICHARD TBB: ZYON MCCALLUM-JAMEL DEAN-TYRICK SMITH-JOSH HAYES TEN: LJARIUS SNEED-JARVIS BROWNLEE-ROGER MCCREARY-MARCUS HARRIS WAS: MIKE SAINRISTIL-MARSHON LATTIMORE-NOAH IGBINOGHENE-TREY AMOS AVAILABLE: JAIRE ALEXANDER-ASANTE SAMUAL-RASUL DOUGLAS-MIKE HILTON RE: Rate Our CBs (2025) - Nate (formerly eliminate08) - 06-14-2025 I voted 13-19 but closer to 19 until we see these guys really grow. Dax showed last year he could be a very good boundary Corner for us and once he is healthy could be great in the Slot. DJ Turner is extremely fast with fluid hips and showed some good things last year also before getting injured. CTB sucked last year though, hopefully the new coaching helps, he says it has and he had a nice pick on Burrow in mandatories. Really like Fig Newton and DJ Ivey showed some good things last season finally getting healthy. But still, mid pack at best until we see the growth. RE: Rate Our CBs (2025) - Luvnit2 - 06-15-2025 Based on 2024, I voted 20-26. The bad news is we were forced to play non starters and a rookie last year. The bad news is Taylor-Britt digressed in coverage in 2024 ad nond not sure why as he was much better prior. The good news is we lost 2 starters so it was hard on a secondary playing 2nd and 3rd string guys a lot f 2024. I am actually optimistic this group can be a lot better, but they need to prove it on the field in 2025. If I were to rank them in 2024, they were one of the worst groups in the league in my opionion so as bad as my rating is right now, it is an improvemen over 2024. RE: Rate Our CBs (2025) - Goalpost - 06-15-2025 I wouldnt call them reliable or dependable. 20-26 is my vote RE: Rate Our CBs (2025) - sandwedge - 06-15-2025 Might as well be blunt here 20-26 CTB isn't as good as he or most fans think. Turner doesn't really show up much, except on the injured report. Hill was decent until he showed up on the injury report. Fig I actually like, made rookie mistakes but was playing decent at the end of last season. I hope Ivey gets a chance to show more this year. RE: Rate Our CBs (2025) - Nicomo Cosca - 06-15-2025 They don’t have a single proven guy in that group now that Hilton is gone. I can’t rank them any higher than bottom tier until they show it on the field. Not to mention stay healthy in the first place. RE: Rate Our CBs (2025) - bengalfan74 - 06-15-2025 Until they prove they're better I'm going 20-26. RE: Rate Our CBs (2025) - TCUBengal34 - 06-15-2025 I'm biased, but I think Fig is a stud who's going to ball out this year. Wouldn't surprise me. You know him all too well. He is really smart and you can tell the coaches love the guy. RE: Rate Our CBs (2025) - FormerlyBengalRugby - 06-16-2025 Nothing proven, and I would think the crowd that bagged on Tee for his injuries might be gun-shy here too. 20-26 currently, but could move as the season progresses and the defense comes together. Hopefully the new defense will improve the pass rush with some d-line games, and bringing additional heat from the linebackers, making the job of the secondary much easier. RE: Rate Our CBs (2025) - bfine32 - 06-16-2025 It appears this blocking dummy said something about Newton's mama: ![]() RE: Rate Our CBs (2025) - psychdoctor - 06-18-2025 13-19 range. I think Hill will play well if he is healthy. I hope Hilton's spot is at least competently played by Fig. Let us hope that Golden can bring out the performance of the existing talent. Wouldn't surprise me if we bring back Hilton if there is an injury during camp. Mike is still out there without a team surprisingly. RE: Rate Our CBs (2025) - CJD - 06-18-2025 I chose 13-19 because there's a lot of unknowns surrounding our CB team as 2 of our 3 starters are coming off season ending injuries after bouncing around the defense in their first two years, and the 3rd is coming off the worst year of his career (after looking like an early extension candidate in the first two years of his career). A lot of room for improvement, but until we see them in action, I'm hedging my bets. We could be up in the 6-12 range at the end of the season, or we could be down in the 20-26 range. They have all the potential in the world though. The depth behind them is solid too. I liked what we saw from Newton, Wilson and, to a lesser extend, Ivey. Davis is a long time back up, but the fact that he's stuck around is good for depth too. I forgot about Marco Wilson, liked what I saw from him a lot late last season along with Fig. RE: Rate Our CBs (2025) - pally - 06-18-2025 add Jaire Alexander to the Ravens CBs roster...he signed with them today RE: Rate Our CBs (2025) - Nate (formerly eliminate08) - 06-18-2025 (06-18-2025, 05:00 PM)pally Wrote: add Jaire Alexander to the Ravens CBs roster...he signed with them today Sorry to say, but now I hope Jaire doesn't stay healthy. ![]() RE: Rate Our CBs (2025) - CJD - 06-18-2025 (06-18-2025, 04:33 PM)Nate (formerly eliminate08) Wrote: I forgot about Marco Wilson, liked what I saw from him a lot late last season along with Fig. Yea, he played pretty well down the stretch. I'm glad he isn't a starter, but as a spot fill in, I thought he did pretty well. RE: Rate Our CBs (2025) - ochocincos - 06-18-2025 I went with middle of the pack because all the current Bengals CBs were just solid but not above average when compared to other starters across the league. According to PFF, here were the grades for each of CTB, Turner, Hill, and Newton: CTB - 63.6 (low end of solid) Hill (5 games) - 68.2 (solid) Turner - 67.8 (solid) Newton - 60.9 (cusp of average-below average) RE: Rate Our CBs (2025) - Nate (formerly eliminate08) - 06-19-2025 (06-18-2025, 05:34 PM)CJD Wrote: Yea, he played pretty well down the stretch. That is one place where we are good at with Corner after seeing Fig and Marco start late last season and do well. I see Fig's rating was pretty low but I think that was because of one game where he was thrown into the fire. I remember him recovering quite well as he got more and more snaps. Marco Wilson impressed me a lot though, I don't remember him getting beat hardly at all and if he did it wasn't poor coverage. Both tackle well too from what I saw. |
