Asking for money when you know it is a hail mary.

But good on you for trying, giving people hope. The game seems too hard for those who seek positions for the right reasons. I work in the public sector and can confirm too many games are afoot.

Thank you for your attempt to instigate change.

Yeah, those of us who work the behind-the-scenes type of public sector jobs see the mess and just have to shake our heads because we know it will roll down to us.

100%

I am in public health and the covid scene has undercut much  of our credibility.

Hopefully it does not bleed into other areas.

I am certain you get that in your field as well, when questioned in one area, others suffer.

Working at a public university, you better believe it.

I don’t see how that meshes too well with the party who:
Had a leader that wanted to shoot protestors https://thehill.com/policy/defense/3473642-esper-trump-asked-about-shooting-protesters-in-the-legs-or-something-after-george-floyd-death/
Is banning books.
Wants to take away a woman’s right to choose.
Wants to make laws that punish and restrict transgender people.
Is making adults disclose personal information to look at porn on the internet.
Wants to tell parents how to parent.
Is basically the thought police and will blow up like a Karen to have you canceled if they don’t like you.

So, your saying they are like an HOA?  Wink

It is tough doing your job, as a public servant, with the orders handed down these days.

Best to you brother.

Well, as I enter the last year of my master's program I am looking at a change of career path. I have been working as a government bean counter for close to 12 years at this point. I am currently in the process of a couple of new options, including one in the planning and zoning arena, and one that is working on the development of programs for area youth (which is in line with my volunteer roles, so that's nice). I am nearing 20 years in total as an accountant and, quite frankly, I am done. LOL

Thank you for the kind words.
A lot of my ideas get implemented through others (without credit), so I can still institute positive change in my community.
I'll also likely expand my event planning/fund raising efforts to help the community.

Here's some of our promotional material for our car show if you have Facebook.

In my experience, we rarely get credit for anything we do, and credit for good ideas gets kicked up to the people who let's us do it. In the end, you made something better, which is what we all should be trying to do.

I am not on any social media, minus year or so on Linked In when I was looking to upgrade my career.
